Next weekend, June 14th and 15th, is the annual ‘Steady Ed’ Memorial Tourney held at the Highland Springs course in Lakeport. This tournament is always a favorite, so come out…support the sport…and remember Steady Ed Hedrick, the founder of Disc Golf. See you there.
Well, the first KOA Pro/Am Jam without Mike Ruzicka at the helm, went off with few hitches. There was a tremendous turnout, one of the biggest in recent years and the prospective new owners of the KOA were pleased enough to invite the UFOS to throw two tournaments a year instead of one!<–more–>

John Ross announces the 24 Karet Gold Tourney for Mixed Doubles will take place from Friday, April 18th through Sunday, April 20th, 2008. I’m happy to report that there was a great turnout for the first John McLeod Memorial held at Highland Springs in Lakeport on Saturday, February 23rd. In spite of the horrific weather, 44 of you hard-core golf warriors turned up to brave the downpour and honor John. Truly no wimps, no whiners. Congratulations go out to Brett Lewis, who aced hole 5 (in spite of the wind), and George Houston, who aced hole 7. Although the weather was hardly the best, I think a good time was had by all.

The first John McLeod (Old Man John) Memorial will take place next Saturday, February 23rd, at Highland Springs in Lakeport.
Checkin time will be 9:30am. In addition to tournament play, there will be a ceremonial scattering of Peaches’ (John’s Pug) ashes on the course. Come out and honor the memory of ‘Old Man John’ who was a fixture on North-Bay courses.

Got back from the KOA Pro/Am Jam to find that the spammers had crashed our Forum. I am installing a new, more secure one, from the designers of Wordpress, itself. Until I find a way around it, you will have to log in to the new forum separately. The good news is that you can use the same signon and password for it. I am fine tuning it now so look for it in a couple of days.
The website has been successfully upgraded to Wordpress 2.5.1 and the plugins have been upgraded to their latest versions.
